The story begins as far back as 1966 when John Otto, Jay’s father, bought the Frank Turner Company and renamed it Otto Sales. Prior to that, both John and his father worked for Hajoca Corporation, with the experience and professional relationships they forged, the birth of Otto Sales was feeling a very strong heartbeat from the start. By 1977 another generation was officially involved. Jay, still in high school at the time, learned from his father first-hand the business and how to not only form solid relationships but also to appreciate what innovations and technology mean to the industry. By 2000, the scepter had passed and Jay was officially the majority owner. Since then, Otto Sales has continued to evolve into the industry leader it is today.
Being manufacturer’s representatives, We have come to understand what that term means. "Understanding customer’s needs start to finish with excellent customer service" That is our number one priority.
Our Sales team consists of the three sales people ushering in the next generation of talent at Otto Sales; Cyndie Brady, Jacob Otto and Joey Adams.
Cyndie originally started with us part time, while still in high school then moving to full time following her graduation. After pursuing a career in accounting, she's been back with Otto Sales since 2000. Managing the day to day operations of the office along with preparing the commercial quotations, Cyndie is well versed in all aspects of the company as well as all of the product applications.
Jacob, having grown up around the company, seemed destined to follow in his father’s footsteps. Originally working in the warehouse as a teenager during his summer vacations, Jacob decided to pursue a career in sales following his graduation. He joined the company full time in 2006 and has fast cut a niche in the industry. Taking care of the customer service/order entry side of the business, getting material to the jobsites along with handling contractor on-site training and product presentations, Jacob has grown to become a critical part of the team.
Joey, decided to pursue a career in sales after his graduation from Old Dominion University in 2008. Quickly learning the ropes, Joey has proven to be a natural. Handeling our outside sales position, Joey, like his father and grand-father has forged solid relationships based on trust in our products, strong customer service and knowledge of the industry.
Jay Otto remains very hands on in all aspects of the business. Jay is a big believer in giving his staff the tools they need to be successful, having them attend Dale Carnegie sales seminars is a prime example of that dedication. Another example is the company’s dedication to the latest state-of-the-art technology.
While Jay remains completely accessible to all clients, it gives him great pride to see them contact himself less often and his sales representatives more frequently.
Of course Otto Sales would never have been successful had we not offered the finest in cutting-edge products from the very beginning. Otto Sales sets the bar in the industry as being the company that can solve any problem and bring the most efficient and economical products to each project.
By maintaining a dedication to client satisfaction, our company strives to be the most reliable in the commercial plumbing products industry.
